
Mazen Asbahi is the principal of Asbahi Law Group, Ltd. and brings considerable experience and focus in providing quality and affordable legal services to businesses, physicians and other healthcare providers and nonprofits.
Mr. Asbahi received his primary legal training at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, one of the nation's premiere law firms. He received his bachelors degree with highest honors from the University of Michigan, and his Juris Doctorate with cum laude honors from the Northwestern University School of Law.
Mr. Asbahi writes and speaks on a variety of legal issues. He is a member of the American Bar Association's Business Law, Health Law and Nonprofit Law committees. He is also a member of the American Health Lawyers Association.
Mr. Asbahi is passionate about community service and is active with a number of educational, charitable and civic organizations.
Mr. Asbahi serves as general counsel to a number of companies and nonprofit institutions. He is a 2007 fellow of Leadership Greater Chicago, and currently serves as a director of its Fellows Association. He has served as the president of the Muslim Bar Association of Chicago and on the auxiliary board of the Chicago Legal Clinic.
More recently, Mr. Asbahi served as the National Coordinator of Muslim American and Arab American Outreach for the Obama presidential campaign.

Nhan Nguyen, JD, MD has over eight years of experience providing legal, business and strategic counsel in the areas of healthcare and corporate law.
Dr. Nguyen earned his medical doctorate from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, after graduating magna cum laude and phi beta kappa from Baylor University with his bachelors in biology. He earned his juris doctorate from the University of Houston Law Center with a focus on intellectual property and healthcare law and policy. Dr. Nguyen also completed a masters in finance at the University of Houston Bauer College of Business.
Dr. Nguyen serves on the Board of Directors for the Dubuis Health System, the Dubois Hospital of St. Louis, and on the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School's Alumni Board of Trustees. He is also active with the Houston Bar Association, the Biomedical & Technology Club and the Texas Center for Legal Ethics.
Dr. Nguyen is also a frequent speaker on topics related to healthcare law and policy, entrepreneurship, nonprofits and general corporate law. He is a regular contributor to the Healthcare Legal Blog (forthcoming).
Safia Hussain focuses her
practice on nonprofit law. She represents community-based organizations,
religious groups, social service organizations and professional associations
among others on issues such as formation, compliance, governance, fiscal policies
and procedures and the implementation of "best practices."
Ms. Hussain is a regular
contributor to the Nonprofit
Legal Blog.
Ms. Hussain received her
principal legal training at the New York office of Fried, Frank, Harris,
Shriver & Jacobson LLP, one of the nation’s preeminent law firms. Ms.
Hussain is an honors graduate of Wellesley College and the Rutgers University
School of Law-Newark. She is currently a candidate for the LLM degree in
taxation from the New York University School of Law.
Ms. Hussain spent much of
her early years living abroad in Austria and Pakistan, and she spent a semester
studying in France at the Faculte Des Lettres Modernes in Aix-en-Provence.
She is proficient in French and has basic language skills in Urdu and
Arabic.
About Omar Mir
Omar Mir received an LL.M. in taxation from Villanova University School of Law in 2006 and his juris doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2005.
Mr. Mir previously served as a law clerk to the Supreme Court for the State of West Virginia and the Raleigh County Circuit Court. He also served as an attorney with Legal Aid of West Virginia.
Prior to law school, Omar gained experience in tax accounting with Delloite & Touche LLP and the Charleston, WV accounting firm of Simpson & Osbourne.
Mr. Mir is based in Washington D.C.

Mahsa is a recent graduate of the John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois. She has experience in health care regulatory matters having been a law clerk with Corbett & Ashe, a boutique medical malpractice law firm in Chicago. She also gained experience as a law clerk for the Cook County Public Defenders Office, the National Immigration Justice Center and the Law Offices of Azita Mojarad.
